Advertised reseller in Canada - could not find webclipse on their website
Hoping to purchase webclipse license in CAD dollars, tried advertised Canadian reseller - to my dissappintment could not find software on their website
1 voteRuss, my sales team tells me that resellers may not list their entire catalog for a variety of reasons. If you explicitly contact them, they should be able to set you up with a license.
If you still need help, please let us know.

Activation process is too slow
I have tried all 3 different way to activate, all very slow
93 votesActivation should typically take 10-20 seconds, never more than a minute. If appears to be taking longer than this, there’s probably something else wrong which would cause it to eventually fail.
The most common cause of activation failures is not having connectivity – see our proxy doc for notes on setting it up correctly: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/configuring-the-network-proxy-settings/ If you still experience issues,
Due to the diverse nature of issues that could still result in failures or delays, do write to us at support@genuitec.com or open a thread here: http://myeclipseide.com/forums so we can investigate and resolve ASAP.

"Web App Libraries" causes files to be locked in MyEclipse 2015, 2016 and 2017
When you have "Web App Libraries" added to the build path of a Dynamic Web Project, the jar files in "WEB-INF/lib" may be intermittedly locked. I have reproduced this issue in MyEclipse 2015 Stable 1.0, 2016 CI and 2017 CI.
We use a script that overwrites the contents of the "WEB-INF/lib" folder with our dependencies. (Specifically, this is a Maven plugin that triggers when we run "Maven clean" on our "pom.xml" file. The project itself is not a Maven project, as that seems to bypass the "WEB-INF/lib" folder entirely which is not desirable.)
Sometimes the files are locked, and our…

Stop turning random stuff on when I update.
This is the second time after a CI update in the 2016 version that stuff has broken. If I want to turn a feature on I'll turn it on. First you automatically turned on some "live preview" crap that broke random crap, and now I have to deal with a bunch of .jsp files complaining after another update. Stop. Turning. Stuff. On. Automatically.
Part of the reason people bother using this IDE over IntelliJ is because it's cheaper. If the time our team has to spend fixing crap after an IDE update out weighs the cost of your competitors, we'll…
7 votesKody, I agree that having an update break your workspace is extremely frustrating. However, live preview was the only feature in recent times that was enabled that could affect deployment. This was enabled only once, so if turned off, it would stay off, forever.
With the 2016 CI 6 release, we fixed a bug, which, in some cases, could have prevented JSPs from being indexed and validated. Now that it has been fixed, perhaps you’re seeing these validation errors only now? Other than this one case, i can’t think of anything else that would lead to problems.
Now, if these errors are false negatives, that’s another matter that should be addressed, of course. Could you please report the issue on our forums or feel free to comment further here and we’ll do our best to resolve it.

control shift S should save all items, it does save all items but then it jumps to another source code tab. Highly annoying
control shift S should save all items, it does save all items but then it jumps to another source code tab. Highly annoying
1 voteScott, I have never seen this happen and we use this all the time. Do you have any additional plugins installed? They may be affecting this behaviour. If you see this consistently, do post details on our forums at: http://www.myeclipseide.com/forums

format html/jsp/js better
format html/jsp/js better
30 votesI’ve filed a bug against formatting so we can take a look at how we can do better here.
This is, of course, a very vast area, so if you have specific issues and cases where formatting often fails, do post them here or on our forums: http://www.myeclipseide.com/forums

Keep "Exclude from validation" after project clean
Being able to select a folder, right click and select exclude from options is a great feature. It would be great for it to remain in force a project clean. After a clean, in order to make it take affect again, one needs to uncheck it and then check it again. I think this is also a problem after closing a project and reopening it.
7 votesThe behavior you describe is how “exclude from validation” is supposed to work already – I ran a few quick tests to confirm this.
If you see contrary behaviour, could you let us know for what file types you are seeing undesired validation on clean?

Gradle Support
Create or find a plugin that supports Gradle natively like Subclipse does for Subversion. IntelliJ supports this now natively and I believe it's becoming a large market.
19 votesWe are getting a few requests for Gradle support.
Would it be enough to ensure that Gradle can be easily installed (a few button clicks) or do you want the product to have it installed out of the box?

Auto generate Java beans from JSON file
Its a hugely unproductive task to create Java beans from JSON/XML files. Having a utility to reverse engineer beans and adding jaxb annotations will save lot of time for everyone.
25 votesThank you for the suggestion and the reference, I’ve filed this feature request for further investigation.

Maven plugin support
The Maven support for "Goals" is awesome! I would like to see Maven plugin support for common, mainstream plugins like: maven-resources-plugin, maven-jaxb2-plugin, maven-compiler-plugin, jetty-maven-plugin, maven-war-plugin and etc...
74 votesJustin, this is a good idea, we’re going to take a look and see what we can do.

SVN Suport
Add to default plugins SVN support
111 votesGiven the choice between Subclipse and Subversive as well as needing specific versions of the the plugin based on your repository, bundling a Subversion suite with MyEclipse might make things more difficult for our users.
It is evident, however, that this is a significant pain point – we’re looking at how we can make the process of adding Subversion support to MyEclipse a lot easier for everyone.
- Don't see your idea?
